Yue awoke with a start and looked outside at the sun streaming in. Daytime. She much preferred night...She wasn’t surprised to not see him. Disappointed, but unsurprised.
"Tsuki," she said, slipping out of bed. She paused, smiled. "Tsuki, Tsuki, Tsuki," she sang as she peeled off yesterday’s clothes and showered.
"Tsukiiiii–," Yue said, trying it out as a call. Just in case she had to.
"Tsuki," she murmured at work.
"Why do you keep repeating that?" a co-worker, Lizzy asked curiously. "You know it means ‘light’ in Japanese, right?"
